Artist Statement

 

Hideaki Uesugi is drawing on canvas with acrylic paint by drawing technique based on the traditional Japanese style of expression.

 

He was inspired by Ukiyoe Artists and also by European Baroque paintings. He draws original techniques based on Japanese traditional art style.

 

He is very good at drawing delicate and fine shapes,in other words traditional decorative patterns.

 

The act of finely drawing brings calmness in the mind.

It feels like it approaches the way of mind that is the essence of Zen or meditation.
